Brig. Gen. Rick Moisio is the commander of the 162nd Fighter Wing, Arizona Air National Guard Base located at the Tucson International Airport, Tucson, Arizona. He assumed this position in November 2004. The general was born in St. Louis, Missouri, and was commissioned in 1977 through the U.S. Air Force Academy. He attended undergraduate pilot training at Williams Air Force Base followed by A-7D combat aircrew training at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base. General Moisio was then assigned to England Air Force Base, Louisiana where he served as a squadron pilot in the A-7D and later in the A-10A. He completed his Air Force career as an A-10 instructor pilot at Davis-Monthan AFB. Since joining the Arizona Air National Guard in 1984, he has commanded the 148th Fighter Squadron, the 162nd Operations Group and was Vice Commander before assuming his current position. General Moisio has more than 5,500 flight hours.
