Joseph L. R. Mills, M.D., F.A.C.S.

Dr. Mills, board-certified in vascular surgery, general surgery and surgical critical care, is a vascular surgeon who has special interests in aortic aneurysm repair, carotid surgery to prevent stroke, and lower extremity bypass surgery for limb salvage. His research focuses on vein graft stenosis and intimal hyperplasia.

After receiving his medical degree at Georgetown University School of Medicine, Washington, D.C., Dr. Mills completed a general surgery internship and residency at Wilford Hall USAF Medical Center at Lackland AFB, Texas. Dr. Mills completed his vascular surgery residency at Oregon Health Sciences University, Portland. Dr. Mills recently completed a three month Endovascular Surgery Fellowship at Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas.

Dr. Mills is currently on the Board of Directors for the American Board of Surgery. He is past-president of the Peripheral Vascular Surgery Society and is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is a member of numerous organizations, including the Western Vascular Society, the American Association of Vascular Surgeons and the Society for Vascular Surgery. He is presently an editor of The Journal of Vascular Surgery.
