Lt. Sandy Rosenthal, is the new head of the Green Valley Sheriff's office.
He will be speaking on what parts of Television Law Enforcement is real and what science has done to help Law Enforcement.

Major Yenter will discuss the changes in the Aerovac system from the Vietnam era to today and his experiences as a flight nurse in Iraqi, Afghanistan , GITMO and Katrina.
Tim Burton, the Past Program Manager for the 260 Club, will be talking about his role in the Central Intelligence Agency's Afghan Program in the 1980's culminating with the Soviet Union withdrawal from Afghanistan as depicted in George Crile's book "Charlie Wilson's War - The Extrordinary Story of the Largest Covert Action Program in History" (and subsequent movie).
He will also talk a little about the history of the Agency.
Major General Donald Shepperd, USAF (Retired), Former Commander of the Air National Guard and frequent consultant to CNN News on military issues. He is back by popular demand. This year's talk will give his perspective on global issues, given our recent election. He has been very well received the last two times he has spoken and has written two books. One, “Bury Us Upside Down,” was up for a Pulitzer Prize.
Major General Shepperd will have a few copies of Bury Us Upside Down (Vietnam best-seller) & The Class of '58 Writes a Book - a new book of first person stories from his high school graduating class put together for their 50th high school reunion - it's a hoot and the audience will relate. Cost is $20 for each.
Mike Quigley is the Wilderness Campaign Coordinator for the Tumacacori Highlands project.
The Tumacacori Highlands is 84,000 acres of Coronado National Forest located about 25 miles south and west of Green Valley. Mike is currently focused on securing federal Wilderness designation for the Tumacacori Highlands. He does a power point presentation that features in-depth information on the Tumacacori Highlands including lots of stunning photos. His presentation is both educational and informative.
Mike holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences and English literature and a Master’s degree in English literature from the University of Delaware. He has worked with various private and public-sector organizations, including as a staff assistant to the Governor of Delaware, as a laboratory chemist and a medical writer for multinational corporations, as a technical writer and manager for a small software company, as a freelance multimedia software developer, and as a diplomat in Washington and abroad for the United States government (serving in the American Embassies in Dakar, Senegal, and Yaounde, Cameroun, as the Embassy’s Deputy Public Affairs Officer and Deputy Director of the American Cultural Center). Mike has been a long-time volunteer for various environmental education and conservation groups, and an advocate for science-based conservation-oriented environmental policy.
Dr. Sokoloff is an academic surgeon-scientist. His specialties include combining surgery with innovative drug therapies for patients with high-risk, aggressive and advanced cancers and to use minimally-invasive and non-surgical treatments for early disease.
Dr. Sokoloff is Professor and Chief of the Section of Urology in the Department of Surgery at the University of Arizona College of Medicine. A graduate of Stanford University School of Medicine, Dr. Sokoloff completed residency training at UCLA and a fellowship in urologic oncology at the University of Virginia. He has been on faculty at the University of Chicago and Oregon Health Sciences University.Lt. Col. Matt Garner just returned from Iraq in March.
LTC Matt Garner enlisted on 31 December 1987 and was later commissioned through Weber State University, Ogden, Utah, in 1990. He attended flight school and is qualified in both UH-1 and AH-1 aircraft. His aviation assignments include the Republic of Korea, Alaska, New York and the Washington DC area. LTC Garner transfered to Public Affairs and has served in numerous assignments in Virginia, Utah, Texas and Arizona. He has been deployed to Haiti (1994), Afghanistan (2003-2004) and Iraq (2008-2009). LTC Garner's decorations and awards include the Bronze Star Medal, the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal, the Army Commendation Award and numerous others.
He is married to the former Karen Packham and they have three children.
William A. "Bill" Lafferty a native of Illinois entered the Army Air Force in December 1942. Commissioned and rated pilot 12 March 1944. Pilot and IP in Troop Carrier during WWII. Flew 198 missions on the Berlin Airlift. KB-29 and RB-36 Aircraft Commander. Squadron ops and wing ops in 28th Bomb Wing. Operations Officer at SAC HQ's and Cinpac. Plans Officer in HQ's USAF, Director of War Plans at MAC, Director of Plans & Programs Air Force Advisory Group, Vietnam Deputy Chief of InternationalNegotiations Division, J-5, JCS. Joined E-Systems as Administrator of the electronic test and analysis group in Northern Virginia Jan 1975. Retired from there in 1984. Three children and four grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Don Severe was born & raised in Pekin, Illinois. He graduated from Bradley University, with a BS Degree in Marketing, in 1956 and holds a graduate degree in management and finance..
Don was a pilot with the USAF Air Defense Command. He was honorably discharged as a Captain following his active duty.
Don’s business career encompassed sales and management experience in the insurance and financial planning business at both the field and corporate levels.
After holding senior management positions with several corporations including Lincoln Financial, Transamerica and ITT, he became founder and President/CEO of a national marketing company and a NASD Broker/Dealer headquartered in California. He retired in 1985. He received numerous industry awards and commendations as well as Don’s recognition in Who’s Who in Business and Industry. Don is a Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) and was an NASD Registered Principal. In Long Beach, California he was a member of the Committee of 300, responsible for the annual Grand Prix Race. After retiring from the employee benefit business he founded The Severe Group, Ltd. (an insurance marketing broker) with his son Jeff.
In 1987 he moved to Tucson and was active in the community serving on several boards including the Metropolitan YMCA, the Copper Bowl Foundation (post season football bowl games), The University of Arizona Health Science Center, the Southern Arizona Chapter of CLU and the Tucson Symphony. He was President of both the Tucson and Denver, Colorado Alumni Chapters of Sigma Chi Fraternity.
In Sigma Chi Fraternity, he is a member of The Order of Constantine.
Don and Lynne moved to Green Valley (full time) from Colorado in October 2004. He was a Past Board of Directors Member for the Country Club of Green Valley and presently a memberof the Desert Hills Golf Club
He was founder & Director of the Green Valley Chapter of the Minuteman Civil Defense Corps. (MCDCGV). Following his resignation from the Minuteman organization, he dedicates his time and effort to communications and education of the public concerning the border issues between the U.S. and Mexico. He is Co-Chairman of the Tucson Border Patrol Station Stakeholder Liaison Committee.
Don considers himself a Patriot of the U.S.A. He is concerned with the current state of affairs in the U.S. and around the world. The Border Issue/Illegal Alien problem is one of his most passionate concerns as well as our war on terrorism. Don travels the back roads of Southern Arizona, frequently, in his Jeep 4X4.
