Ms. Meyers is a naturalist and conservationist now living in Alamos, Sonora. She will discuss ongoing efforts to preserve the tropical forests in Sonora.

December 4, 2002 -- Coach Joan Bonvicini

Women's Basketball at the University of Arizona

Coach Bonvicini receives check Coach Bonvicini, the PAC 10 Coach of the Year in 1998, will share her experiences as one of the top women's basketball coaches in the country.

January 8, 2003 -- Mr. Tom McNamara

Corporate Involvement in Television, Cable, and the Internet

Mr. McNamara, Eyewitness 4 News Anchor at KVOA in Tucson, will talk about how television has changed over the years, and how corporate involvement applies to local markets like Tucson. Note: For this program only, the 260 Club will meet on the second Wednesday of the month!

The Federal Bureau of Investigation

Mr. Moore, Associate Special Agent in Charge of the Southern Arizona FBI office, will talk about his agency, its role here in southern Arizona, and the ongoing war on terrorism.

February 22, 2003 -- Top Cat Day

U. of A. Women's Basketball Field Trip

The 260 Club has scheduled a special field trip to McKale Center to see a Women's Basketball game on Saturday afternoon, February 22nd. There are a limited number of seats available (150), and will be offered to current members and their spouses at the January 8th meeting. Please note that this trip sold out in 55 minutes on January 8, 2003.

March 5, 2003 -- Dr. Lee Ryan

An Update on Research in Cognitive Neuroimaging

Dr. Ryan, Assistant Professor of Psychology at the University of Arizona, and co-director of the U of A Cognitive Neuroimaging Laboratory, is back by popular demand to bring us up to date on her research into age-related memory loss. She will also highlight some of her recent work using neuroimaging to identify individuals who are at higher risk for developing Alzheimer's disease.

April 2, 2003 -- General John Wickham, US Army (Retired)

New Doctrines Employed to Fight Wars

General John Wickham, US Army (Retired), was the 30th Chief of Staff of the US Army, and has served as senior assistant to Secretaries of Defense Schlesinger and Rumsfeld. He will talk about his experiences in Korea and Vietnam, and the development of new joint war fighting doctrines employed in the Gulf War.

May 7, 2003 -- Father Charles W. Polzer, S.J.

Father Kino and His Adventures in Southern Arizona

Father Polzer, curator of Ethnohistory at the Arizona State Museum, also returns due to popular demand! He will continue his discussions on the life and work of Padre Eusebio Francisco Kino.
